This standard specifies the performance of acceptance testing according to the Röntgenverordnung - RöV (German X-ray Ordinance) for dental X-ray equipment used for DENTAL DIGITAL CONE-BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CBCT). It is valid for X-ray equipment in which image recording is accomplished using image intensifiers and flat-panel detectors.
The present standard does not apply to devices that use the principle of tomosynthesis and that generate the imaged volume from a very low number of projections and limited (<180°) angular information.
