This standard establishes performance requirements for pocket-sized chirpers, alarm dosimeters, and alarm ratemeters. Included within the scope of this standard are pocket-sized chirpers, pocket-sized dosimeters that provide an alarm at a preset integrated dose, and pocket-sized ratemeters that provide an alarm at a preset exposure rate. Nonalarm dosimeters and ratemeters are outside the scope of this standard.
