This document provides a comparison of the requirements for door locks, buffers, governors, safeties and brakes covered by the major prescriptive safety standards:

a) CEN EN 81-1:1998+A3:2009;

b) ASME A17.1-2010/CSA B44-10;

c) JIS TS A 0028-1:2011;

d) The Building Standard Law of Japan.
