Diese Norm gilt für die Verwendung von Mauerziegeln der Kategorie I nach DIN EN 771-1 für Mauerwerk, an das Anforderungen hinsichtlich der Standsicherheit, des Wärme-, Schall- und des Brandschutzes gestellt werden können.
Die Ausführungs- und Bemessungsregeln für Mauerwerk nach DIN EN 1996-1-1:2013-02, DIN EN 1996-1-2:2011-04, DIN EN 1996-2:2010-12 und DIN EN 1996-3:2010-12 in Verbindung mit den Nationalen Anhängen DIN EN 1996-1-1/NA:2012-05,
Diese Anwendungsnorm gilt insbesondere nicht für:
- Füllziegel;
- Keramikklinker;
- Vormauer-Planziegel für Dünnbettmauerwerk;
- Sperrschichtziegel als Abdichtung nach DIN 18533.
