This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the methods for testing the performance (including cavitation performance, etc.) of pumps served for practical use (hereafter referred to as prototype pumps) in their delivery inspection, by using a model pump which corresponds to the prototype pumps.
The matters related to pump tests not specified in this Standard are given in JIS B 8301 and JIS B 8302.
This Standard is applicable to large size centrifugal pumps, mixed flow pumps and axial flow pumps, but not applicable to pump turbines.
NOTE: The model pump test performed in accordance with this Standard can substitute the performance test on prototype pumps in their delivery inspection. This Standard does not interfere with temporary assembly inspections, etc. of the prototype pumps.
