scope:
This Standard specifies performance requirements for artificial lighting in large buildings to achieve an adequate level of energy efficiency.
This Standard applies to large buildings that have artificial lighting. The lighting power density limits may be applied to any large building.
NOTE - Regulation may make compliance with this Standard mandatory for certain classes of large building.
This Standard provides two methods of demonstrating compliance:
Schedule method Applies a limit to the power of the fixed lighting for a whole building depending on the building area and primary purpose.
Calculation method Determines a limit to the power of the fixed lighting for a whole building depending on the maintained illuminance recommended for the purposes of each area within the building.
