This STANAG defines the electrical characteristics of four types of discrete signal interfaces for use in avionic systems. This STANAG does not replace or override the standardization agreement in respect of aircraft/store electrical interconnection system (STANAG 3837). The basic electrical specification detailed may be enhanced to provide improved electromagnetic compatibility and protection against lightning or electromagnetic pulse (EMP) induced transients, fault propagation suppression, and other factors where project demands dictate.
