scope:
Purpose.
To revise Navy administrative guidance concerning pregnant naval personnel (hereafter identified as servicewomen) assigned to Navy units regarding the assignment, retention, separation, standards of conduct, and medical management of normal pregnancies per references (a) through (w). This policy addresses parenthood issues to include the adoption of an infant/child and single male servicemen as parents. These guidelines pertain to Active and Reserve Components. This instruction is a complete revision and should be reviewed in its entirety.
