Purpose and scope
The purpose of this technical code is to define procedures for approval of supervisors of welding and/ or soldering or for line managers responsible for thermal spraying.
This technical code applies to companies engaged in welding, soldering/brazing or thermal spraying of aerospace equipment in the civil and/or military sectors. A supervisor/line manager must be named.
The supervisor/line manager can be designated in-house if the company has a quality management program recognised by a responsible licensing authority (e.g. LBA) or by the client (e.g. DIN EN 9100). At a minimum, it must meet the objective requirements of this technical code.
In the case of in-house appointment, the procedures/person must be confirmed by the client.
If formal approval is required by regulations (e.g. DIN 2303) or contractual agreements, it must be issued by a recognised body1).
The requirements of this technical code may also be applied accordingly to other application fields.
