scope:

Use/Relationship: The Equipment Technical Manual contains detailed operations and maintenance information primarily intended for the operator and the maintenance technician.

a. This Data Item Description (DID) calls for the contractor to provide an Equipment Technical Manual for fully configured systems as specified in the agreement, contract or order when delivered and installed by the installation team. The Equipment Technical Manual content shall include detailed operation and maintenance information covering: overall description of the equipment, installation instructions, descriptions of operating controls and indicators, operating instructions, general and detailed principles of operation, preventative and corrective maintenance procedures, replaceable parts lists with supporting engineering drawings/diagrams/figures.

b. For purposes of this DID, "Sanitized" is defined as the removal of any ties to the government or agency from the submitted Equipment Technical Manual.

c. The Equipment Technical Manual can be used alone or in conjunction with the other manuals developed by a contractor using DI-TMSS-81676B, Subsystem Technical Manual, or DI-TMSS- 81677B, System Technical Manual.

d. Illustrations and engineering drawings shall be in accordance with DI-TMSS-81678A, Engineering Documentation Product Drawings, Sanitized or DI-TMSS-81679A, Engineering Documentation Products Drawings, Modified and Sanitized, as stated in the contract.

e. This DID supersedes DI-TMSS-81675.
