Dieser Teil der IEC 61753 enthält die Mindestanforderungen an die Eingangsleistung, die Prüfungen und Messungen und die Prüfschärfegrade, die ein LWL-Dämpfungsglied einhalten muss, damit es als die Anforderungen an nicht mit Steckverbindern versehene feste Einmoden-Lichtwellenleiter-Dämpfungsglieder in Freiluftanlagen erfüllend eingestuft werden kann. IEC 60869-1 beinhaltet die Fachgrundspezifikation von LWL-Dämpfungsgliedern.

Die in diesem Schriftstück festgelegten optischen Leistungen beziehen sich nur auf nicht mit Steckverbindern versehene Lichtwellenleiter-Dämpfungsglieder.
