This specification sets forth content requirements for the preparation of technical manuals (TMs) covering description, operation, maintenance, installation, and parts support for Combat System Technical Operations Manuals (CSTOMs); Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Equipment Manuals; Electronic (including Service Test Electronic, Experimental Electronic, and Interior Communications [IC]) System and Equipment Manuals; and Weapon Systems and Weapon Equipment Manuals. The requirements are applicable for the output of paper or for the display of page-oriented, linear, and non-linear TMs on an Electronic Display System (EDS).
