VDI 2762 BLATT 3

Mechanical solid-liquid separation by cake filtration - Mechanical deliquoring of incompressible filter cakes by undersaturation using a gas pressure difference

active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 March 2017
Status: active
Page Count: 30
ICS Code (Chemical analysis): 71.040.40
scope:

This standard describes a measurement procedure to determine the deliquoring kinetics and limits of mechanical deliquoring (deliquoring equilibrium) of a filter cake by a gas pressure difference. It provides the basis for quantitative statements about the mechanical deliquorability of largely incompressible filter cakes by means of gas differential pressure. It is a continuation of Standard VDI 2762 Part 2, which describes the formation of these types of filter cake from a suspension.

The maximum gas pressure difference is limited to approximately 0,6 MPa (6 bar) for the typical range of technical applications.
