The aim of this NATO standardization agreement (STANAG) is to respond to the following interoperability requirement.
INTEROPERABILITY REQUIREMENTS
In the naval operational domain, to establish minimum design criteria for replenishment aspects of new construction naval vessels with an overall length greater than 107 m (350 ft).
