Vibration analyses are required in various fields: for assessing the condition of a machine, the impacts on humans and the environment, for troubleshooting and the elimination or reduction of vibration, for monitoring the condition of machines and installations, for fault diagnosis.
This standard is addressed to anyone carrying out vibration analyses and wishing to document the results durably and comprehensibly, be this in one's own archive for later comparisons, for trend analyses, or as a basis for prognoses, whether in the form of technical reports or publications. Last but not least it should provide even the user of software packages with an overview of the tools available together with help regarding their correct application.
