This standard harmonises, with regard to the state of the art, the requirements which are relevant to the companies affected and in addition makes a contribution to deregulation. The standard is directed at operators, planners, plant constructors, the relevant government agencies as well as third parties within the sphere of influence of the facilities and equipment of scrapyards. The following requirements form the basis for planning, constructing, operating and monitoring scrapyards. The standard describes the state of the art as regards approval and implementation.
