AIM
The aim of this NATO standardization agreement (STANAG) is to respond to the following interoperability requirements.
INTEROPERABILITY REQUIREMENTS
To enable underwater communications systems deployed on NATO and civilian platform to establish robust digital communications for node discovery and data exchange. To ensure that digital underwater communications do not interfere with analog underwater telephony compliant to STANAG 1074
