This guide explains the principles and practice of oncology in a clear format, combining recent research and treatment with a description of the underlying biology. The book adopts a multidisciplinary approach which integrates the medical and nursing aspects of cancer care. An introdutory section, discussing general principles and aspects of oncology, is followed by site-specific chapters describing the epidemiology, pathology, clinical signs, investigations, diagnosis and treatment of each cancer type. Special chapters are devoted to cancer in children, HIV-associated malignancies, secondary cancers and unknown primary cancers.
