This specification covers unweldable 6061 wrought aluminum alloy armor plate in nominal thicknesses from 0.250 to 3.000 inch, inclusive (see 6.2). The weldability of 6061 wrought aluminum alloy armor has not been determined. Therefore, these alloys should be used as an appliqué armor.
