Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 June 2017
Status: active
Page Count: 103
ICS Code (Production in the chemical industry): 71.020
ICS Code (IT applications in industry): 35.240.50
scope:

This standard addresses the users and providers of PAM in the process industry. In particular, it introduces PAM specification sheet and a PAM method sheet, describing their use and the benefits to users and providers. In the preparation of this series of standards a series of examples has been included with a view to giving a better understanding of the two standards. The scope of application of the PAM specification and method sheets covers the full life cycle of a plant and supports the structured dialogue between users and providers on the basis of a standardized exchange of information. Here the following aspects of PAM are covered:

• selection and procurement process

• condition and fault diagnosis

• operational documentation

• replacement procurement

• further optimizations

The use of the PAM specification sheet in an electronic exchange format is possible via integration into eCl@ss®. Instructions on using the feature bar in accordance with NAMUR recommendation NE 100 and on the motivation for use are a constituent part of the present standard (see Section 9).

Note: The examples documented in the standard are included as files in Microsoft Excel® format on the CD supplied and can be used as templates by users and providers alike.
