This European Standard specifies requirements regarding designand test methods for external and internal power operatedpedestrian doorsets. Such doorset constructions may be operatedelectro-mechanically, electro-hydraulically or pneumatically. ThisEuropean Standard covers safety in use of power operated pedestriandoorsets used for normal access as well as in escape routes and asfire resistance and/or smoke control doorsets. The type of doorsetscovered include power operated pedestrian sliding, swing andrevolving doorsets, including balanced doorsets and foldingdoorsets with a horizontally moving leaf. Power operated passdoorsets incorporated in other doorsets for which the main intendeduse is giving safe access for persons are covered by the scope ofthis European Standard. This European Standard deals with allsignificant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant topower operated doorsets when they are used as intended and underconditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by themanufacturer (see Annex J).
