This Technical Specification, "Secure Monitoring for autonomoustoll systems - Part 2: Trusted recorder" specifies the requirementsfor the Secure Application Module used in the secure monitoringcompliance checking concept. The Technical Specification describestwo different configurations of a Secure Application Module (SAM)required for the secure monitoring compliance checking concept:-Trusted Recorder, for use inside an OBE; - Verification SAM, foruse in other EFC system entities. The Technical Specificationdescribes; - terms and definitions used to describe the two SecureApplication Module configurations; - operation of the two SecureApplication Modules in the secure monitoring compliance checkingconcept; - functional requirements for the two Secure ApplicationModules configurations, including a classification of differentsecurity levels; - the interface, by means of transactions,messages and data elements, between an OBE or Front End and theTrusted Recorder; - requirements on basic security primitives andkey management procedures to support Secure Monitoring using aTrusted Recorder. This Technical Specification is consistent withthe EFC architecture as defined in ISO 17573 and the derived suiteof standards and Technical Specifications, especially FprCEN/TS16702-1 and CEN/TS 16439. The following is outside the scope ofthis Technical Specification; - The life cycle of a SecureApplication Module and the way in which this is managed; - Theinterface commands needed to get a Secure Application Module in anoperational state; - The interface definition of the VerificationSAM; - Definition of a hardware platform for the implementation ofa Secure Application Module.
