This European Standard applies to brake block holders and brakeshoe keys installed on railway vehicles. Brake block holders andbrake shoe keys made of non-ferrous materials are not subject tothis European Standard. This European Standard containsrequirements for design, evaluation testing of conformity andserial production monitoring. The requirements contained in thisEuropean Standard apply to the brake block holders and brake shoekeys with which the railway vehicles of main-line railways, privaterailways (regional railways, company railways) are fitted.
