(1) This Part 1.4 of EN 1993 gives supplementary provisions forthe design of buildings and civil engineering works that extend andmodify the application of EN 1993-1-1, EN 1993-1-3, EN 1993-1-5 andEN 1993-1-8 to austenitic, austenitic-ferritic and ferriticstainless steels. NOTE 1: Information on the durability ofstainless steels is given in Annex A. NOTE 2: The execution ofstainless steel structures is covered in EN 1090. NOTE 3:Guidelines for further treatment, including heat treatment, aregiven in EN 10088.
