This part of ISO 28721 specifies requirements for the resistanceto chemical attack and thermal shock of chemical enamels and theirdesignation for ordering purposes. It is applicable to enamelledapparatus, piping and other components primarily used for processequipment in chemical plants. It only applies to unalloyed andlow-alloy carbon steels suitable for enamelling. NOTE The maincriteria for assessing enamel quality are the resistance tochemical attack and thermal shock and the structure of the covercoat enamel.
