This European Standard gives details of a test procedure forpackings to be used to seal the stuffing boxes of centrifugalpumps. It gives provisions on the design of test equipment,standard test parameters and reporting criteria. It does notspecify performance criteria which should be agreed betweensupplier and customer, but does define 3 tightness classes. Whennecessary, this European Standard is also applicable to packingsused on other rotary equipment such as mixers and agitators.
