This European Standard is applicable to the investigation andassessment of drain and sewer systems outside buildings. It isapplicable to drain and sewer systems, which operate essentiallyunder gravity, from the point where the sewage leaves a building orroof drainage system, or enters a road gully, to the point where itis discharged into a treatment works or receiving water. Drains andsewers below buildings are included provided that they do not formpart of the drainage system of the building. This part of thisEuropean Standard specifies general requirements for theinvestigation and assessment of drain and sewer systems outsidebuildings.
