This document is applicable to the authorities involved in alltypes of railway operation. This European Standard is applicable tonew vehicle designs, to modifications and to the checking of thegauge for vehicles already in use. The application of the rules ofthis European Standard makes it possible to determine the maximumdimensions of vehicles related to the structures. This EuropeanStandard contains: - the associated rules for all the gauges forrolling stock; - the requirements for composing the technical gaugereport to submit to the Acceptance Authority in order to confirmvehicle conformity to this standard; - the requirements formaintaining the vehicle characteristics influencing gaugingthroughout its operational life.
