This International Standard applies to performance tests onturbocompressors of all types. It does not apply to fans andhigh-vacuum pumps, or to jet-type compressors with moving drivecomponents Turbocompressors comprise machines in which inlet,compression and discharge are continuous flow processes. The gas isconveyed and compressed in impellers and decelerated with furtherincrease in pressure in fixed vaned or vaneless stators. ThisInternational Standard is intended to provide standard provisionsfor the preparation, procedure, evaluation and assessment ofperformance tests on compressors as specified above. The acceptancetest of the performance is based on this performance test code.Acceptance tests are intended to demonstrate fulfilment of theorder conditions and guarantees specified in the contract.
