This Technical Specification gives the principles ofoperation, construction, maintenance and application of acousticDoppler profilers to the measurement of velocity and discharge, anddiscusses calibration and verification issues. It is applicable toopen-channel flow measurements with an instrument mounted on amoving vessel. It is not applicable to measurement of liquid flowin small channels or partly-filled pipes using a singleDopplerbased flowmeter at a fixed point in the cross section.
