This standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardoussituations, and events as listed in Clause 4, which are relevant toedge banding machines fed by chains with manual loading andunloading and maximum work-piece height capacity of 100 mm, whenthey are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by themanufacturer, including reasonably foreseeable misuse. Thework-piece is fed through the processing units by an integratedfeed. Feeding chains also include ?feeding belts?. For the purposeof this International Standard, an edge banding machine fed bychains is hereinafter referred to as ?machine?. The machine isdesigned to process in one pass, one end (single end machine), orboth ends (double end machine) panels of wood materials withsimilar physical characteristics as wood, as well as gypsum plasterboards. Edges to be applied by the machine can be made of paper,melamine, plastic or composite materials, aluminium or light alloy,veneer or solid wood.
