This part of IEC 60393 applies to lead-screw actuated and rotarypreset potentiometers, wirewound and non-wirewound for use inelectronic equipment. These potentiometers are primarily intendedfor use in circuits for trimming purposes which require infrequentadjustments. This part of IEC 60393 prescribes preferred ratingsand characteristics and selects from IEC 60393-1 the appropriatequality assessment procedures, tests and measuring methods. Itprovides general performance requirements for this type ofpotentiometer. This standard gives the minimum performancerequirements and test severities.
