This part of ISO 19069 specifies the methods of preparation oftest specimens and the test methods to be used in determining theproperties of polypropylene (PP) moulding and extrusion materials.Requirements for handling test material and for conditioning boththe test material before moulding and the specimens before testingare given. Procedures and conditions for the preparation of testspecimens and procedures for measuring properties of the materialsfrom which these specimens are made are also given. Properties andtest methods which are suitable and necessary to characterize PPmoulding and extrusion materials are listed. The properties havebeen selected from the general test methods in ISO 10350-1. Othertest methods in wide use for, or of particular significance to,these moulding and extrusion materials are also included in thispart of ISO 19069, as are the designatory properties specified inISO 19069-1. In order to obtain reproducible and comparable testresults, it is necessary to use the methods of preparation andconditioning, the specimen dimensions and the test proceduresspecified herein. Values determined will not necessarily beidentical to those obtained using specimens of different dimensionsor prepared using different procedures.
