TSE - TS EN ISO 16773-2

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) on coated and uncoated metallic specimens - Part 2: Collection of data (ISO 16773-2:2016)

active, Most Current
Organization: TSE
Publication Date: 11 July 2016
Status: active
ICS Code (Paints and varnishes): 87.040
scope:

This part of ISO 16773 gives guidelines for optimizing thecollection of EIS data with focus on highimpedance systems. Highimpedance in the context of intact coatings refers to systems withan impedance greater than 109 ??cm2. This does not precludemeasurements on systems with lower impedance. For uncoated samplesextra information can be found in ISO/TR 16208. This part of ISO16773 deals with the following: ? instrumental set-up: requirementsand pit-falls; ? data validation: checking the measurement rangeand the accuracy of the data; ? performing an EIS measurement:specimen considerations and instrumental parameters; ? theexperimental results: different methods of presenting EIS data. These guidelines are intended to ensure the acquisition of EIS datathat can be used to study the performance of the specimen. Thispart of ISO 16773 does not give guidelines for the interpretationof the data.
