This part of ISO 1701 specifies, with reference to ISO 230-1,both geometric and machining tests on general purpose, normalaccuracy, vertical-spindle milling machines with table of variableheight. It also specifies the applicable tolerances correspondingto the above-mentioned tests. This part of ISO 1701 deals only withthe verification of accuracy of the machine, and it does not applyto the testing of the running of the machine (vibration, abnormalnoise, stick-slip motion of components, etc.) or to machinecharacteristics (such as speeds, feeds, etc.), which shouldgenerally be carried out before testing the accuracy.
