scope:

This European Standard specifies the performance requirementsand the corresponding test methods for all natural stone slabs usedfor external paving and road finishes. External paving use includesall pavements typical of road works, such as pedestrian andtrafficked areas, outdoor squares and similar to be used in anoutdoor condition that are subject to the weathering agents, suchas temperature changes, rain, ice, wind, etc. This EuropeanStandard provides also for the evaluation of conformity and formarking of the natural stone slabs. This European Standard coversalso characteristics that are of importance to the trade. ThisEuropean standard does not cover natural stone slabs for floors andstairs in buildings. In these cases EN 12058 [1] applies.
