This International Standard specifies a method for verifying thecollapse/burst pressure rating of a hydraulic fluid power filterelement, i.e. the capability of a filter element to withstand adesignated differential pressure at the normal (i.e., intendeddirection of) flow, by means of pumping contaminated fluid throughthe filter element until either collapse/burst occurs or themaximum expected differential pressure is reached without elementfailure.
