Mechanical vibration -- Balance quality requirements for rotors in a constant (rigid) state -- Part 1: Specification and verification of balance tolerances

active, Most Current
Organization: TSE
Publication Date: 18 April 2016
Status: active
ICS Code (Balancing and balancing machines): 21.120.40
scope:

This part of ISO 1940 gives specifications for rotors in aconstant (rigid) state. It specifies a) balance tolerances, b) thenecessary number of correction planes, and c) methods for verifyingthe residual unbalance. Recommendations are also given concerningthe balance quality requirements for rotors in a constant (rigid)state, according to their machinery type and maximum service speed. These recommendations are based on worldwide experience. This partof ISO 1940 is also intended to facilitate the relationship betweenthe manufacturer and user of rotating machines, by statingacceptance criteria for the verification of residual unbalances.Detailed consideration of errors associated with balancing andverification of residual unbalance are given in ISO 1940-2. Thispart of ISO 1940 does not cover rotors in a flexible state. Thebalance quality requirements for rotors in a flexible state arecovered by ISO 11342.
