This International Standard specifies the design, minimum safetyrequirements and inspection and testing procedures for liquefiednatural gas (LNG) marine transfer arms intended for use onconventional onshore LNG terminals, handling LNG carriers engagedin international trade. It can provide guidance for offshore andcoastal operations. It also covers the minimum requirements forsafe LNG transfer between ship and shore. Although the requirementsfor power/control systems are covered, this International Standarddoes not include all the details for the design and fabrication ofstandard parts and fittings associated with transfer arms. ThisInternational Standard is supplementary to local or nationalstandards and regulations and is additional to the requirements ofISO 28460. This International Standard needs not be applied toexisting facilities.
