This European Standard specifies the requirements for factorymade rigid polyurethane foam (PU) products, with or without facingsor coatings, which are used for the thermal insulation ofbuildings. PU includes both PIR and PUR products. The products aremanufactured in the form of boards. Products covered by thisstandard are also used in prefabricated thermal insulation systemsand composite panels; the performance of systems incorporatingthese products is not covered. This standard describes productcharacteristics and includes procedures for testing, evaluation ofconformity, marking and labelling. This standard does not specifythe required level of a given property to be achieved by a productto demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. Thelevels required for a given application are to be found inregulations or non-conflicting standards. Products with a declaredthermal resistance lower than 0,25 m2?K/W or a declared thermalconductivity greater than 0,060 W/(m?K) at 10 ?C are not covered bythis European Standard. This standard does not cover in situinsulation products and products intended to be used for theinsulation of building equipment and industrial installations(covered by EN 14308).
