This part of ISO 11451 specifies a method for testing theimmunity of passenger cars and commercial vehicles to electricaldisturbances from off-vehicle radiation sources, regardless of thevehicle propulsion system (e.g. spark ignition engine, dieselengine, electric motor). The electromagnetic disturbancesconsidered are limited to narrowband electromagnetic fields. Whilethis standard refers specifically to passenger cars and commercialvehicles, generalized as ?vehicle(s)?, it can readily be applied toother types of vehicles. ISO 11451-1 specifies general testconditions, definitions, practical use, and basic principles of thetest procedure. Function performance status classificationguidelines for immunity to electromagnetic radiation from anoff-vehicle radiation source are given in Annex A.
