This International Standard specifies a method of determiningthe degree of disintegration of plastic materials when exposed to alaboratory-scale composting environment. The method is notapplicable to the determination of the biodegradability of plasticmaterials under composting conditions. Further testing is necessaryto be able to claim compostability.
