This part of IEC 60068-2 determines the corrosive influence ofoperating and storage indoor environments on electrotechnicalproducts components, equipment and materials, particularly contactsand connections, considered separately, integrated into asubassembly or assembled as a complete equipment. It provides testmethods giving information, on a comparative basis, to aid theselection of materials, choice of production processes andcomponent design, with regard to corrosion resistance. A guide tothe selection of methods and test duration is provided in AnnexC.
