This International Standard specifies a method for calculatingthe thermal transmittance of curtain walls consisting of glazedand/or opaque panels fitted in, or connected to, frames. Thecalculation includes: -different types of glazing, e.g. glass orplastic; single or multiple glazing; with or without low emissivitycoating; with cavities filled with air or other gases; -frames (ofany material) with or without thermal breaks; -different types ofopaque panels clad with metal, glass, ceramics or any othermaterial. Thermal bridge effects at the rebate or connectionbetween the glazed area, the frame area and the panel area areincluded in the calculation.
