This Standard gives recommendations and requirements for themeasurement and estimation of the real-ear acoustical performancecharacteristics of air-conduction hearing aids and for themeasurement of certain acoustic properties of the ear related tothe application of hearing aids. Measurements of real-earacoustical characteristics of hearing aids which apply non-linearor analytical processing techniques are valid only for the testsignals used and conditions employed. The purpose of this standardis to ensure that measurements of real-ear acoustical performancecharacteristics of a given hearing aid on a given human ear can bereplicated in other locations with other test equipment.
