TSE - TS EN ISO 17643

Non-destructive testing of welds - Eddy current examination of welds by complex plane analysis

active, Most Current
Organization: TSE
Publication Date: 18 April 2016
Status: active
ICS Code (Welded joints and welds): 25.160.40
scope:

This International Standard defines eddy current testingtechniques for detection of surface breaking and near surfaceplanar discontinuities, mainly in ferritic materials (weldmaterial, heat-affected zones, base material). Eddy current testingcan also be specified for use with non-ferritic materials, forexample in an application standard. The techniques can be appliedto coated and uncoated objects during fabrication and in service, both onshore and offshore. Eddy current testing can be carried outon all accessible surfaces and on welds of almost anyconfiguration. Unless otherwise specified at specific items in thisInternational Standard, the general principles of ISO 15549apply.
