This European Standard specifies characteristics, requirementsand test methods for laminate floor coverings with a surface layerbased on aminoplastic thermosetting resins as defined in 3.1 and3.2. It also specifies requirements for marking and packaging. Itincludes a classification system, based on EN ISO 10874, givingpractical requirements for areas of use and levels of use, toindicate where laminate floor coverings will give satisfactoryservice and to encourage the consumer to make an informed choice.Laminate floor coverings are considered for domestic and commerciallevels of use, including domestic kitchens. This standard does notspecify requirements relating to areas which are subjected tofrequent wetting, such as bathrooms, laundry rooms or saunas.
