This procedure applies to all Network Rail managed lever frame signal boxes.

PURPOSE

This procedure provides Network Rail with a consistent and documented approach for the annual risk assessment at lever frame signal boxes. This assessment is carried out as part of a location planned general inspection by the appropriate manager and the local health and safety representatives and / or when a heavy pull has been reported by a signaller. This procedure mitigates the risk of accidents and health issues for staff employed at sites that have heavy pull levers.
