This procedure applies to the identification, monitoring and management of route crime to continuously improve safety performance throughout Network Rail infrastructure. It defines the process for identifying and assessing risks of Route crime, including the designation of Route crime hotspots, and developing action plans for mitigation of these risks.
It applies when an incident has occurred or has the potential for damage or injury.
PURPOSE
This procedure sets out how Network Rail's Route Operations Control manages incidents of railway crime.
It provides both a sufficient assessment of the risk and understanding of the nature of the problem, and where appropriate initiate work with the various parties involved to develop a coordinated programme of reasonably practicable control measures.
