This Module facilitates the creation of processes and specifications and for Topographic surveys, where the accuracy needs are better than ±100mm in position. It ensures the requirements are understood by the project managers, project engineers and survey suppliers.

It includes details for surveys of track, platform extensions, level crossings, underground services, gauging, implementation of S&C, geospatial monitoring and slab track installation. Specification details for a more generic survey requirement may be found in RICS Measured surveys of land, buildings and utilities, Client Specification guidance note, 3rd Edition 2010.

The module is intended to be used with the main NR/L2/TRK/3100, Topographic, Engineering, Land and Measured building surveying - Strategy and general document.

Purpose

This module enables the risks of poorly executed and specified Topographic survey works to be minimised.
